Joanne Nerenberg works as a Producer and Editor of documentary film. She produced Turn Every Page - The Adventures of Robert Caro and Robert Gottlieb, a film by Lizzie Gottlieb, which sold to Sony Pictures Classics coming off its premiere at Tribeca Festival in 2022, and has released to rave reviews. Turn Every Page is currently screening in theatres nationwide.

Joanne is co-editor of Kate Novack’s Hysterical Girl, a documentary short on NYT Op-Docs, shortlisted for an Academy Award in 2021. She is also Co-Producing The Animated Mind of Oliver Sacks, Directed by Dempsey Rice.

Joanne has a professional dance background, and brings a love of movement to her work. She is the co-creator with Mark Landsman of move it!, a dance TV show for kids developed with Sesame Workshop. Her documentary short Body Job is a meditation on inspired physicality in the workplace, and profiles three individuals who transform sedentary jobs into active ones. Her website The Kineticist, looks at the world through a movement perspective, highlighting stories of movement found in cities, in the office, classrooms, and the worlds of art and science. 

Joanne edits with a rhythmically fluent style and has produced video for the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, The NY Historical Society, Harvard University and The Lincoln Institute in Cambridge, MA. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, journalist and transportation activist Aaron Naparstek, and her two children, curly-heads Arlo and Saul.
