Hysterical Girl tells the story of Sigmund Freud’s famous “Dora” case history, through the imagined lens of Dora herself. Combining Freud’s original text with contemporary images and footage, Hysterical Girl considers the insidious ways that Freud’s theory of hysteria continues to silence and shame victims of sexual assault, more than a century later.
